Townhouses are architecturally similar to single-family houses except that townhouse owners also own a specified share of the common elements such as the roof, exterior wall, and structural components. If the building is in poor condition, you, as the owner, will have to pay your share of the repairs as well as on-going maintenance. We believe having your townhouse unit comprehensively inspected is the best protection one can get.
